The Calcutta High Court was established on 14th May 1862 and located at Kolkata capital of West Bengal. The court has sanctioned judge strength of 63. The Calcutta High Court extended its Circuit Bench in Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Island. Now the court is decided to conduct recruitment for 21 district judge and 23 civil judge posts in the judgeship of Howrah. Despite the name of the city is having officially changed from Calcutta to Kolkata in 2001.
